The Molecular Genetic Laboratory

The Molecular Genetic Laboratory of the University Eye Hospital Tuebingen (Department II for Pathophysiology of Centre for Ophthalmology with Research Department for Experimental Ophthalmology) exists since 1992. The lab deals with the identification of the genetic causes and the underlying pathomechanisms of hereditary disorders of the eye.

In this context we have established a comprehensive DNA sample and patient database for hereditary disorders of the eye in which over 7000 DNA samples of patients and family members have been stored.
